Does H Pylori Cause Shortness Of Breath

lewd Eletteraria: Ursula K. On Other Plans Le Guin

Strangely, going the entire week to go back and forth from Milan-San Donato because of the work, I have more time to read than when I was at home doing nothing. The latest effort
is "On other floors ( Changing Planes) by Ursula K. Le Guin, best known for books set up Earthsea / TERRAMARA. A book out of print for years, praised long ago by a friend of mine, and miraculously managed to find a used book fair.
The book focuses on the method invented by Sita Dulip, tube traveler from Cincinnati, which allows you to visit other dimensions (planes) from a flight to another, while waiting on uncomfortable seats dell'areoporto (the discomfort and boredom are conditions necessary for travel size). Note that in the Italian translation of the title is lost the curious play on words: Changing Planes literally means is "aroplano change" that "change plan".
Each chapter of the book is the description by the author of one of her wacky plans to visit during this waiting at the airport, using the method Sita Dulip, or in the record made him by some of his friends.
The book reveals, however, be quite a missed opportunity: no objections on the writing style, simple and elegant. The real problem is the content. Each chapter is basically a story in itself, and not all have the same level: if a chapter like that of children without sleep Hy Brisal may be intriguing, others have very few interesting ideas, which also are not even well developed, but only sketched. Lacks a true wonder of escalation between a plan and the next, that should the main objective of such a novel. The feeling you get is going to read a more dull "We hope that the next plan is fun."
Ultimately it is a book that can be understood if you do not have anything better, but the content does not remain imprinted in their memories long.

lewd Eletteraria: The Science of Discworld by Terry Pratchett, Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen

Get up again at 6.50 in the morning to go to Milan by train has its advantages: I have time to read again: P The
Today's review covers The Science of Discworld (see 2 posts below) written by the brilliant Terry Pratchett, in collaboration with Ian Stewart, professor of mathematics at the University of Warwick (English town by the name ridiculous: P), and Jack Cohen, a biologist specialized in embryology.
The book begins with an experiment gone bad Unseen University in Ankh-Morpork. A magical reactor designed to heat the cold ass magicians during the harsh winter is producing a disproportionate amount of energy: the only way to avoid sweeping away the entire city and channel to something. This is something the Project.
Mages are like that, once activated, the Project, to observe the birth of a strange universe enclosed by a glass sphere: there is no presence of narrativium and turtles, the worlds tend to be balls of rock and ice and not supported by reliable records elephants balanced on a turtle's shell (as all the worlds that are observed should be), and common sense seems to have been replaced by silly concepts such as logic, physics and evolution.
course in this particular universe is a planet revolving around a yellow sun (ridicolo!!) And it is here that the poor and unfortunate Scuotivento, promoted to professor of geography cruel and unusual, is delivered virtually ( luckily for him) to observe (between ice ages and catastrophic impacts from comets) his strange life forms.
The book is quite different from the classic books by Pratchett. For the chapters that follow the events and rambling thoughts of Wizards of the university, faced with this universe that does not want to learn a little common sense, alternating chapters written by Ian Jack and telling in a more detailed technical, but always serious and comprehensive The birth of our universe, our planet and our ancestors (from "so please"). At first glance one might think that the concepts presented are set in a simplistic and superficial, however, is a mistake, it happened to me several times of having to read a page to truly understand the meaning and to find that there is a reading to do before going to bed after a tiring day you completely deprived of all forces. Despite all
is a really interesting read that gives a quick but comprehensive overview of the last 14 billion years, also dispelling myths and beliefs that are now part of our cultural background. The chapters of Pratchett then, are a great and entertaining interlude to introduce, through the absurd reasoning of the magicians, the topic dealt with in the next chapter.
The translation of the Italian version stands at good levels, with some typo here beyond, but flows that is a pleasure. The translator seems to have been documented before starting work and also added personal notes to clarify the facts that have occurred since the publication (1999), and re-updating (2002), the book (for example, downgrading Pluto's happened a few years ago).
A recommended reading. Do not be scared by the first chapter and read it with a clear mind!

All free, for online news, may soon end. Google, as announced yesterday by the Republic, is preparing to launch a service later this year news of a fee, which represents a bridge to the publishers, in order to overcome the opposition between the largest search engine in the world and the publishing houses (from those of Murdoch, more and more hostile to "all free" ). Already chosen the name "Newspass", one wonders now if an era is truly over.

How To Spruce Up Instant Pancake Mix

lewd Eletteraria: The Dark Tower by Stephen King

With speeds elephantine I finally managed to finish the last book in the saga of Stephen King: The Dark Tower, Book VII The Dark Tower (which imagination: P). In these 900
search for Roland, last of the gunslingers finally ends, where stands the coveted black tower.
Reading the book is quite discontinuous and is divided into fairly heavy and slow parts (the battle of Algul Siento and the trip to the lands of Empath) and parts faster you read all in one breath (the meeting between Mordred and Flag, and the battle Dandeli Roland with the Red King). Certainly lacks the freshness of the first books and it shows that King felt somehow that it was necessary to bring the story to a conclusion.
in the book are numerous references to other works of King, fan-service that every fan of the King (not me) will appreciate for sure. Interesting and fun is the appearance in the history of a certain character (do not add more) and the narration of a fact of life that takes (as with a different perspective) a very important for all (do not add much).
A sore point of the book is that interesting characters like Randall Flag and Mordred are utilized very little, while there are many steps to unnecessary and avoidable (such as Roland's journey from Maine to New York) who steal for no reason pages book (and the reader time: P).
Entertaining instead the presence of two endings: one for a more mysterious and picky that way but that does not affect only the target (King's words), and reveals what lies behind the last room of the tower.
Ultimately, however, despite the flaws, the book does read and brings the saga, after 30 years since its inception, a worthy "end."

Change your password if you do not want to "lose" their identity. It is one of the precautions, which fans of new technologies, social networks in the first place, must take as a habit if you do not want to risk seeing their profile for sale on the Internet.
Web 2.0, in addition to connect millions of people also allows malicious hackers to get into the networks of friends who every day are developed mainly through Facebook.
And once the password and email addresses have been decoded the game is done in a moment he was robbed of accounts and online identities.

Straight Frontbang Weave

Something for the touch?

Microsoft launches its challenge to Apple and Google and enters a world of smart straight leg phone, mobile phones increasingly linked to the world of social networks and designed for kids who love to sail on Facebook or Twitter. The executives in Redmond, perhaps, have tried to keep hidden until the announcement at the end.
But they did not succeed because the Wall Street Journal has launched rumors so large that it can be considered more reliable.
items have gone through the whole network and thus we can say that it's official: April 12 journalists from around the world have been invited to San Francisco for the launch of a new "bomb" in the field of telephony.
Microsoft, in fact, as was also announced by Reuters and Gizmodo seems that is about to bring to market new phones codenamed "Project Pink" with a target-oriented guys and especially to users who like the social network.

How Many Pet Platypuses Are There In The Us

The Science of Discworld

arrived (with dropper) a new (so to speak) Pratchett book in the library: the Science of Discworld.
not a book of the series main (in fact I was expecting the next one to be translated was smaller - Small Gods), but is part of series of books in secondary theme of "science." Strange that the Puffin has chosen this, because of the Discworld books to be translated exist in abundance.
soon as I have a bit of time and find a space between the tons of books that are gathering dust in my room I will take and will let you know how it is.
... hoping that this time we are all pages, and do not touch me translate those missing: @

Invisible University is just an experiment went wrong and now the wizards are found to spy on a spherical planet in the cosmos with a center (they call the World Round the matter because there seems to accumulate in balls rather than flat discs governed by turtles): a wonderful place oddly neither magic nor common sense seem to have a chance against logic. That planet, of course, is ours. It is the Earth Round the World. And while the Wizards look to evolve, we follow the history of our universe. With the help of two great scientists Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen (a mathematician and a biologist specializing in Reproduction and Embryology), Pratchett creates a fantasy book where the plot set in Discworld alternate scientific part written with vivacity and lightness but profound accuracy. And once you have seen the Earth from the perspective of Discworld, nothing will seem the same again ...

"On Discworld science does not exist as such. So we've got it made. Through the magic of the wizards of Discworld are encouraged to create a branch of science of their own, a sort of 'pocket universe 'where the magic does not work, but the rules. Then, as they learn to understand how the rules can make interesting things happen (Rocks, bacteria, civilization) we observe them look ... us. It 'a kind of recursive thought experiment, or one of those Russian dolls that contain smaller but larger. And then we found ... Ah, but this is a ' another story. "

The Tell-Tale Heart - Simpson version

The Tell-Tale Heart by Edgar Allan Poe, Simpson version, which I wrote in high school. I found by accident, and not wanting throw it away, the result here (the internet is forever: P).
Good reading.

regard to numerous calls about a chilling scream occurred at 2:40 am Springfield Street, and I agents Simpson and Flanders, we went there. We heard most of the local residents: some told us they heard something like a desperate cry of pain, while others seemed to have heard nothing alarming.
At the end we presented ourselves at home of old Mr. M. Burns, who lived with his business partner, Mr. W. Smithers. It was the latter to become more open. After letting us in, and after having explained who we were and the reason for our visit, we told him that it was the cause of the mysterious cry. He told us that the fault was caused by a bad dream that had deeply shaken. We did check the house and as we explained that his friend, M. Burns, had left little for a long business trip. Eventually she took three chairs, and urges us to sit back and rest. At first not noticed, but we were right in what must be the bedroom of M. Burns. We sat and talked of trivial matters, but Mr. W. Smithers, a person who seemed controlled and confident throughout the inspection, he began to show signs of nervousness. At first she turned pale, but then began to speak out louder and louder, faster and with greater enthusiasm and from there to just start cursing, shaking and moving nervously in his chair. At last he rose abruptly, as if suddenly he had lost any residue of reason, and, pointing to the wooden floor beneath the chair, yelled "Les Miserables! Stop pretending! confess everything! get those aces! E 'down there! Its terrible beating heart!" At the height of his madness took a poker from the fireplace and began to hit the point that we had indicated. My two colleagues tried to stop him, but the agent Flanders remained locked in place because of the horrid spectacle that was visible between the planks of the floor broken: the body dismembered and torn apart by M. Burns.
I helped the agent to block W. Simpson Smithers, still prey to the state of lunacy. It was not easy to stun him.
Then I called the police and carried via the entity in question, leaving the experts to examine the crime scene.

personal note: The incident has greatly shaken us all, but especially the staff Flanders. I'm afraid I will not be able to serve as a time.

What Can You Use Instead Of Rizla Paper

lewd Eletteraria: The Song of Susannah Stephen King called him Bud Spencer

penultimate book of the Dark Tower: bed in 5 days: D.
"The Song of Susannah" is really intriguing, light and smooth, without those heavy and unnecessary chapters of the previous book in the series, which seemed put there just to thick. Finally he reached again the freshness of the first books ("The Last Knight" and "The Drawing of the Three"). The story develops along two separate time periods (1976 and 1999) but they meet and interact in several places, following the exploits of a ka-tet this time we (Roland - Eddie, Father Callahan - Jake - Susannah and Oy - Mia ). The final cliffhanger
opens on the seventh and final book: the conditions are good, we'll see how King has decided to close this story that has continued (with high and low) for decades. Two
painful notes: The character of Father Callahan fails to convince me just yet (maybe because I have not read "Salem's Lot") and the stop on the Twin Towers was avoidable in my opinion. A final
note: the appearance of a certain character makes us understand what King is really sick of egocentrism.
not add more to not spoil the "bewilderment" to whom he has not read it yet: D
